Gabriela is a native of Ecuador and a US citizen. She graduated high school from the American School of Guayaquil, Ecuador. In her last year of high school she worked as English teacher at the American Language School. She taught English to children. It was then that she discovered her love for teaching. While in college she continued teaching. Gabriela attended one of the most prestigious universities in Ecuador, the Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil, where she pursued a degree in Trilingual International Business Management.

During her 3rd year of college she traveled to France and studied French at the Ecole de Roches Langues PERL in Paris. Gabriela moved to the United States and received her Bachelor’s Degree with high honors in Business Management from Lewis University in Chicago. She worked as a Spanish teacher at Bardwell Elementary School in Illinois. When she had her second child she decided to work part-time. She worked as a Spanish teacher at Language Stars in Chicago, a foreign language Immersion School. She learned the FunImmersion® method, which is a method that maximizes fun in a full immersion setting where native-speaking teachers immerse children entirely in the target language through games, song, projects, music and movement, and other activities that are designed to maximize learning . Gabriela later left Chicago to live in Austin, Texas with her family. Gabriela left her position as a Spanish teacher at Canyon Creek Elementary in Austin to join The Magellan International School.

Gabriela believes that every child has the potential to learn a foreign language naturally and understands the value and importance of learning multiple languages at a young age. She passionately recognize the importance of fostering a generation of multilingual children who will enjoy better future opportunities and the advantage of seeing the world with different eyes and understanding along with appreciating other cultures.

Gabriela is a mother of three bilingual children. Her interests include education, travel, reading and spending time with her family. She enjoys running and yoga. Her plans for the future are to pursue a master’s degree in education and communications. She would love to travel to other countries to teach her children about other cultures and to expand their understanding of who we share this wonderful world with. Gabriela is excited to form part of the team at The Magellan International School. She is fascinated to be part of a school that focuses on a multicultural, multilingual IB program and to be able to provide children with that type of education. She is looking forward to contributing her energy, creativity, and experience to this worthy endeavor. "I hope to contribute to the education of your children and to inspire them with lifelong love of learning and to provide them with the tools to become happy, caring and successful human beings by offering them a nurturing, fun and safe environment."
