Julia Smith, Operations Manager

Julia is a native Texan, born and raised in Dripping Springs. Bitten by the travel bug early, she lived with her family in Mexico City as a young child. She traveled throughout central Mexico during childhood and western Europe during high school. These early experiences cemented her love of travel.

Julia has a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with an emphasis in Western European Politics and a certificate in Politics of the European Union from Texas A&M University. She also holds a graduate certificate from Texas A&M in International Affairs. In pursuing her degree, Julia studied abroad in Europe and focused her academic work on the evolution of the European Union and the passage of the Lisbon Treaty.  She also studied the French language at the Université de Grenoble in Grenoble, France.

After graduation, Julia returned to Austin and started working at Dripping Springs Independent School District as the Site Coordinator of the after school program.

Julia is excited to join the international faculty at Magellan International School and be a part of this international community in Austin. She is also ready to be immersed in the Spanish language and looks forward to learning as much Mandarin as possible. Other than traveling, Julia enjoys reading, history, and spending time with family and friends.
