Advancement Associate

Suzanne Bautch

Suzanne grew up in Dallas and attended Ursuline Academy. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind. where she studied Mass and Speech Communication. After working for years in a public relations agency setting, representing consumer and business-to-business clients, Suzanne decided to become a stay-at-home mom! Living in Houston and then Garden City, New York, her time raising her four children was busy and fulfilling.

She and her husband, Dan, along with Jackson, Ava, Austin and Reid, moved back to Texas (Austin) in 2013. Soon, her career called again and after working at Catholic Charities of Central Texas in a fundraising and communications capacity, she joined St. Michael’s Catholic Academy as the Director of Donor Relations. Planning and managing capital and annual campaigns as well as endowment fundraising are her strengths.

When not working in a fundraising capacity, Suzanne and Dan spend alot of time FaceTiming their college kids and cheering on their youngest two sons who play select and high school baseball. You can always find Suzanne on a diamond somewhere in Texas! Their family loves their two dogs, Lucy the morkie and Mae the springer spaniel.

Sarah Bounds

Sarah Bounds joined the Magellan team in February 2020. Born and raised in Texas, she moved to Austin in 2003 and has called it home ever since.
After graduating from Baylor University with a BBA/Masters of Accountancy she was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas. She was employed at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Austin as an external auditor where she worked primarily with clients in the technology and financial industries. Sarah went on to hold a position as Senior Accountant at National Instruments in Austin.

As a mom to three children, Lilah, Luke and Charlie, she spent several years as a full-time mom, opening up a professional residential organizing business and volunteering her free time. She is a previous Magellan parent, with her eldest graduating from Magellan’s PYP program in 2018, and is thrilled to be a part of the Magellan community again. Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, organizing, traveling to new places, and enjoying all the food, beauty and entertainment Austin has to offer.

Nathaniel Fomby

Nathaniel is a graduate of Concordia University with a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies in Education and Fine Arts. His experience in education ranges from consulting on youth advisory boards, to serving as a life and leadership peer leader, substitute teacher, and summer camp administrator.

Prior to his role at Magellan, he served as the Afterschool Program Coordinator for Side by Side Kids, and as a Program and Operations Coordinator for an organization helping to protect Texas youths from the harmful effects of substance misuse.

In his free time, Nathaniel enjoys hiking nature trails, finding the latest and greatest BBQ spots, and anything to do with music or theater.

Campus Manager, Chimney Corners

Alma Irizarry

Alma was born on the enchanting island of Puerto Rico, in the westernmost city of Mayaguez. My childhood, though, was spent in Denver, CO. After a seven-year return to San Juan, PR, she relocated to New Jersey just in time for her high school years. Rutgers University provided her with an exquisite academic experience and she then journeyed to Manhattan, where, in the dead of winter, she hurried along 5th Avenue to translate cartoons for Scripps Howard. Back in NJ, Alma became an Administrative Assistant to Corporate Tax Attorneys, and moved on to marketing life insurance as a Special Agent and Registered Representative. In time and, as a Contract Analyst, she reviewed, revised and negotiated technology agreements for five years. 

Alma has been in Austin for 18 years, and has worked as a Claims Examiner and Spanish Translator for a life and disability insurance company catering to Latin American clients, and for several years later, as Spanish Translator for the State of Texas. 

She started at Magellan International School on August 26, 2017 as an After School Care Guide and quickly became a Substitute Teacher for pre-school to middle school grades and a Front Desk administrator for our after school care program. She is currently Campus Manager at Chimney Corners and enjoys every moment she spend at Magellan.

If she’s not working, she enjoys visiting museums, good restaurants, or dancing. Alma also enjoys her family, friends, and my doggie, Milo. She cooks Puerto Rican, Cuban and Italian food every chance she gets. Her favorite person is her young adult daughter, Noelia.

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Jenny Jackson

Jenny was born in Dallas but has lived in Austin since 1993 so at this point she considers herself a native Austinite 🙂 She attended the Hockaday School for Girls in Dallas from 1st-12th grade, and following, the University of Texas at Austin where she studied a bit of everything in college including, architecture, art history, and graphic design. Throughout her career, she has worked in a marketing capacity primarily for non-profit organizations and independent schools, including serving as the Marketing Director for St. Andrew’s Episcopal School for 12 years.
Jenny and her husband Scott love checking out Austin’s live music scene and traveling. They regularly visit a beautiful island in Mexico, Isla Mujeres, where they were married in 2020. One of Jenny’s goals is to learn conversational Spanish thanks to the wonderful MIS teachers and students. She is also mom to two busy kiddos and three four-legged children.

Campus Manager, Anderson Lane

Kim Johnson

Kim Johnson was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the University of  Cincinnati before embarking on a move to Austin, Texas. It is here that she met and married her husband, Chris. They have one adult daughter who is now married and teaching in Austin.

Kim began her career in Austin working for a telecommunications company. She then moved to mortgage lending for commercial and residential properties. When their daughter was born, Kim decided to stay at home until her daughter began school. Kim re-entered the workforce as a travel agent for American Express handling the corporate travel account for the IBM Austin office. She then transferred to the financial division buying and selling foreign currency for corporate and personal travel. When the office closed down after 9/11 Kim continued working with smaller companies as office manager, administrative assistant and most recently as a production manager for Austin owned businesses.

In her spare time, Kim enjoys travelling, cooking, crafting, riding bikes, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.

Natalia Morales

Natalia has worked in education for more than a decade and spent the last five years serving as the administrative assistant at a local international school where she supported teachers, students, teams, and extracurricular activities.

Natalia is bilingual. She was born in Caracas, Venezuela, raised in the United States, and is from Venezuela and The Chilean Patagonia.

Paige Polishook

Paige Polishook was born in Dallas, raised outside of San Francisco and attended Vanderbilt University, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in English and Human and Organizational Development.  She began her career in San Francisco in hospitality sales at a small boutique property and eventually sold for a large convention property before moving on to becoming a corporate meeting planner at a research institute.  Later Paige joined a commercial development firm in Silicon Valley as a Project Manager.

Paige happily returned to her Texas roots in 2003 when she and her husband moved to Austin with their young daughter, Sydney. As their family grew with the addition of their son Jack, Paige stepped away from the corporate world to be a fulltime mom.  Her children are now in middle and high school in Cedar Park and their family has grown to include three dogs, the newest and youngest addition being a French Bulldog named Lulu.

Paige is thrilled to be a part of the Admissions and Advancement team at Magellan International School.

Nurse, Anderson Lane

Deepa Vinodh

Deepa was raised in Toronto, Canada where she successfully completed her Bachelors
of Science in Nursing degree. She has been a nurse for the last 18 years, 16 of which
were spent in the Emergency department at the University Health Network (UHN), one
of Canada’s top research and teaching hospitals. During her time at UHN, Deepa also
served as the Nurse Educator for the emergency department and has completed a
couple of research fellowship projects to improve patient safety. She pursued her
passion for teaching by becoming a clinical course director for undergrads and
international nursing students at York University.

Deepa enjoys practicing hot yoga, hiking, cooking, baking and travelling. She currently
has a first grader at Magellan and is looking forward to expanding her role
professionally at Magellan International School.
