Magellan International School (MIS) brought their Kinder-5th grade students to their new 14-acre Bull Creek campus at 7501 North Capital of Texas Hwy this November. The younger students join Magellan students in grades 5-8th who began this school year at the newly renovated site.

Magellan's doors opened in 2009. They quickly grew from 47 students to more than 575 across two campuses. The move to one campus will foster a sense of community and aid families with children in various grade levels.

Today, Magellan is the only school in Texas, and 1 of 4 in the country, that is secular and independent and offers the full International Baccalaureate curriculum in a Spanish immersion setting. They aim to become the preeminent multilingual International Baccalaureate school in the United States.

The International Baccalaureate framework is different from traditional schools. The Middle Years Program encompasses grades 6-10, while grades 11-12 are considered the Diploma Program. MIS is enrolling its first 9th-grade class for the fall of 2024 with plans to expand each year to include grades up to 12th.

Beyond the classroom, kindergarten through grade 3 students are invited to participate in the Gator Step Up Program, which meets after school one day per week and teaches the fundamentals of the different competitive sports offered once they enter 4th grade. Seasonal sports are offered to 4th-8th grade students.

School-sponsored clubs are also available to students at MIS. Some provide the opportunity to serve the community, while others involve competing in regional, state, and national conferences and competitions.
