  • Experiential Learning

It's important to give our students opportunities to take their learning out of the classroom and into the Austin community and the world at large.
Day trips, local, and international travel experiences are thoughtfully designed to integrate with the IB curriculum at each grade level and stage in life.

Experiential field trips begin as early as preschool! Students take a "field trip" around the Chimney Corners Campus to learn how we organize ourselves by using directions and signage for transportation. Beginning in 3rd grade, students have the choice to participate in off campus, overnight, and international trips like these:
  • 5th Grade Retreat
  • 6th/7th Grade Washington, D.C.
  • MYP Retreat
  • 8th Grade Spain Trip

Students in grades 4-8 have the option to participate in competitive sports throughout the year. Practices are held after school 1-2 days per week in addition to regular games and meets. We are members of the AIPL (Austin Inter Parochial League) and currently field the following teams, but our program continues to develop and expand. Stay tuned!
    • Fall - Cross Country (CO-ED), Volleyball (Girls), Flag Football (Boys)
    • Winter - Basketball (Boys, Girls)
    • Spring - Soccer, Track & Field (CO-ED)
  • Gator Step Up Program - Kinder-3

There's nothing like scoring a goal, shooting a basket, or making a great play with your teammates to spur a love of sports. Students in kindergarten through grade 3 are invited to participate in our Gator Step Up Program which meets after school one day per week and teaches the fundamentals of the different sports they can play competitively once they enter 4th grade.
  • NASA Soccer

Magellan has partnered with the North Austin Soccer Alliance (NASA) to provide our young Navigators a fun and developmentally focused soccer experience. Students who register with NASA will have the opportunity to play with classmates, learn fundamental soccer skills and represent their school.
