• What is Spanish immersion?

This approach helps students build fluency and confidence without requiring prior Spanish experience.

• Does my child need to speak Spanish before enrolling?

  No. The majority of our preschool students begin with little or no prior Spanish experience. Our teachers are trained to support beginners and help children build understanding and confidence naturally through daily immersion

• What does IB mean in Preschool?

  Magellan is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. In preschool, the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) focuses on inquiry-based learning, where children explore big ideas through play, questioning, and hands-on discovery. Rather than memorizing facts, students develop curiosity, independence, and a global perspective from an early age.

• What does a typical day look like in preschool?

  Each morning begins with teachers greeting students at arrival, walking them hand-in-hand into the building to start their day with warmth and connection. Preschoolers participate in a Spanish-language morning meeting, followed by inquiry-based learning centers, outdoor play, story time, and guided exploration. Language development is woven naturally throughout the day through conversation, songs, and hands-on activities, all within a structured, nurturing environment.

• How is the IB Primary Years Program different from Montessori?
