Magellan Welcomes New Innovation Lab Intern from UT Austin

Two weeks ago, Magellan participated in UT Austin’s UTeach job fair, where we met 17 bright and eager students interested in interning at our school. Just one week later, we were thrilled to welcome one of them into our community—Alisa Subillaga, a STEM intern who will be assisting teachers in the Innovation Lab this semester.

Alisa comes to us from Grand Prairie, Texas, where her early love of crafts and curiosity about the world sparked a passion for science. Encouraged by inspiring STEM teachers, she pursued biochemistry at UT Austin and soon joined the UTeach program to follow her dream of becoming a high school science teacher. With a strong interest in chemistry and physics, Alisa hopes to inspire the next generation to pursue STEM fields and to dream big.

At Magellan, she will support students in their design classes, helping them bring creative ideas to life while building confidence in their problem-solving skills. Outside of the classroom, Alisa enjoys learning new crafts, traveling with her family, and spending time with loved ones.

Welcoming Alisa reflects Magellan’s ongoing commitment to innovation and design as a vital part of our International Baccalaureate framework. By connecting students with passionate educators and providing opportunities to create, design, and explore, we continue to ensure that creativity and critical thinking remain at the heart of the Magellan experience.
