Alex Garza

Basketball Coach

Born and raised in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, Alex discovered a lifelong love for sports early on. In high school, he played nearly every sport imaginable but found a special passion for basketball—a passion that led to being recruited to a small college in Kansas.

During four years there, Alex earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Accounting and Business Management while competing in basketball, soccer, and golf.

After college, he spent some time exploring career paths before realizing that coaching—not the corporate world—was where he truly belonged. Joining the Magellan community in 2025 has been a transformative experience, aligning with a deeper sense of purpose.

Alex hopes to inspire students to grow through sports—building character, confidence, and community along the way.
