Second Grader Wins Spanish Writing Contest

Congratulations to 2nd grader Sara Velez who won first prize in the El Niño y El Cuento competition. This is a local, annual contest that invites children ages 6-14 to write original stories in Spanish with a winner chosen for each age level category. Stories incorporate values such as kindness, compassion, and love. Sara's story named El Delfín Rosado is about an Amazonian pink dolphin and the adventure to find its family. Sara's story, as well as the other winning pieces, will be published and available in a book.

In addition to Sara, other MIS students also entered the contest. Bravo to Maya Hernandez, Metta Lee, Camila de los Santos, Riley Vinson, and Caysa Vinson for being finalists in this creative contest!
