• What is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) ?

  The benefits of using a donor advised fund (DAF) are strong and, with the new tax laws, are expected to grow in appeal to strategic donors. They are far easier to establish than a private foundation and allow you to support Magellan with relatively small amounts of money. 
  
  When you open a DAF, you are creating a separate entity with the sole purpose of using the assets under management to support qualified charities. You can fund it by irrevocably contributing assets such as cash, appreciated stock, insurance proceeds, or various other forms of capital. Given that your DAF is a separate entity, you can take an immediate tax deduction for the amount of the gift. As advisor to the fund, you can elect to manage the investments personally or choose to have an investment advisor manage the portfolio.

• Why a Comprehensive Campaign?

  Magellan United, unites two vital initiatives to ensure both the immediate and long-term success of Magellan International School. It includes Siempre Magellan, a $7.5 million capital campaign to fund the completion and repayment of our new campus, and The Magellan Fund, a $375,000 annual fund supporting essential operating expenses. Giving to both is essential—together they ensure our school can thrive today while securing its future for generations. These efforts fuel our growth, strengthen our IB Spanish immersion program, and secure our “Forever Home” while sustaining the excellence our diverse community cherishes.

• Will My Company Match My Gift ?

  A company match is when your employer donates an amount equal to (or sometimes greater than) the gift you make to Magellan, effectively doubling or even tripling your impact!
  
  Many companies offer this benefit as part of their corporate giving programs, and it’s usually as simple as submitting a short form after you give. Check with your HR department, company website, or click here to see if your gift to Magellan qualifies.

  We invite you to contribute at the level that feels most meaningful for your family. Every gift makes a difference!
  
  Please consider joining our Anchor Society by making a $2,500 donation to the Magellan Fund. With this donation you will receive an exclusive invitation to a donor dinner in the spring. 
  
  When making your Siempre Magellan gift, consider this capital campaign a rare and extraordinary moment in Magellan's history. We invite you to consider a gift that feels meaningful, even a little beyond what’s easy, because it will help shape our community for generations. It’s these “stretch” gifts, given with both heart and commitment, that make transformational projects possible.
  
  A pledge paid over the course of three years or a one time gift are both options for giving to the capital campaign.

  Donors who give $2,500 or more in a school year join an esteemed community of our most dedicated supporters, individuals and families whose generosity helps sustain and elevate our mission. Each year, we celebrate these remarkable contributors with an elegant recognition dinner and present them with a beautifully crafted commemorative pin, a lasting symbol of their commitment and impact.
