Children's Island Chapters 7 - Epilogue

The Children’s Island Chapter 7: Settling In
The kids were all sitting on logs right outside of the shack. Rosemary was standing in front along with Eloise. She had noticed the glares Eloise and Chloe kept exchanging. It was impossible not to notice. It was weird, Rosemary thought. They were never on the greatest terms, but this was bad. Something must have happened between them. She mentally added it to her list of worries, sighed, and said, “Ok. Let’s begin. First of all, we need to get back home. Any new ideas?”
Sila raised a hand and said excitedly in her high pitched little three year old voice, “Let’s fly back on magical unicorns!”
“Thank you, but we haven’t come across any of those, Rosemary said patiently. “Any other ideas?” No one raised their hand. “Then I will turn this meeting over to Eloise,” Rosemary said.
“OK, second, we need to expand this clump of sticks we call a shack.”
“You are so rude, Chloe said, “we all worked hard on it.”
“I’m afraid I didn’t give you permission to speak,” Eloise said.
“I don’t need permission,” Chloe started to say.
Eloise retorted, “Yes you do unless you are a leader, which you are not.”
“Stop,” Rosemary intervened, “just stop!” The fight died out almost immediately. “We have more important matters to deal with than your little skirmish.” Eloise and Chloe blushed in embarrassment, and for once, Eloise was speechless.
“Eloise, Ricky, and Mike, gather sticks and branches. Molly, Mary, and John, go collect berries. Sila, you play by the stream right here while Chloe, Lily, and I start expanding the shack.
Everyone got right to work, Berries and sticks were constantly being brought in, and by the end of the day, their small shack was a large shack.
Rosemary felt fulfilled. It was a good day, except for the Chloe and Eloise problem.
