Dr. Preston Achilike serves as Magellan International School's Head of Secondary, bringing extensive experience from both public and independent school settings. A student-centered educator and collaborative leader, he is known for fostering strong school cultures where students are challenged academically while feeling supported as individuals. Before joining Magellan, Dr. Achilike held leadership roles at a respected independent schools in Austin and previously taught middle and high school Spanish in the Boston and Houston public school systems, where he also served as a Foreign Language Department Chair.

Dr. Achilike holds a Doctorate in Education Policy and Planning from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Education in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University, and a Master of Education in Education Administration from Boston College. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, he has studied, conducted research, and worked internationally in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Spain, experiences that have shaped his commitment to global education and cross-cultural understanding.

At Magellan, Dr. Achilike is dedicated to strengthening the Secondary program while ensuring every student is known, valued, and empowered to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. He believes that meaningful relationships, high expectations, and a strong sense of belonging are essential to helping young people thrive.

Outside of school, Dr. Achilike enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their daughter, Eliana. The family is excited to welcome a new addition later this year and looks forward to becoming an active part of the Magellan community.
